Financial Director - Travel Industry
Reporting to the Chief Executive and collaborating closely with the senior management team, the Finance Director will take full responsibility for the financial strategy, the leadership and management of the financial function.
The successful candidate is viewed as a long term appointment, with a real opportunity to make a difference and add significant value to the business. The candidate will be experienced, qualified and commercially focussed with a clear vision to deliver excellence across the function and into each department.
The ideal candidate will be able to quickly assess the existing department structure and provide the vision and plan required to improve the integration between people, processes, technology, internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver effective and efficient financial management and control.
A strong professional person with excellent IT skills, a skilled communicator with a passion for quality and a natural ability to effectively lead and manage change is essential.
Travel sector experience would be advantageous.

Our client is a growing AIM listed highly entrepreneurial automotive leasing business whom is recognised as a leader in their niche market and work with a broad range of leading clients. They are now seeking a Finance Director to join their dynamic team to work with and support the Board in a position that will be highly visible and will require the Finance Director to develop processes and internal systems to support growth.
Key duties will include;
Take ownership of the budgetary process
Review and improve financial controls and processes
Introduce a weekly cash-flow forecast
Provide commercial and strategic input to the management team
Improve the flow of MI throughout the business
Take ownership of legal matters including contractual terms / pricing negotiations Manage a small finance team
The Finance Director will be the Key interface between the finance department and the operational side of the business. It is a very ‘hands on’ role with high visibility in a business which is experiencing rapid growth and will continue to expand. The business has a creative culture, and its employees are energetic and enthusiastic about the space they operate in. It is therefore imperative that you have a passion for working in a ‘people business’ and can develop excellent working relationships with non-finance colleagues. You will be a fully qualified accountant, with aspirations to be part of an entrepreneurial venture in an autonomous, visible role. Ideally you will have experience within a contracts-based organisation and you should have prior experience within an AIM organisation and ideally the automotive industry.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a young and rapidly expanding house builder. The client is set to triple their turnover in the next two years which will make them one of the major players in the industry.
The Finance Director will be responsible to the board of directors for all aspects of the financial and commercial management of the company.
