An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant has arisen with a growing business in Southampton. This role will support the Management Accountant in providing business critical information and value added services in order to enhance the commercial focus of the business unit. The role will offer exposure to external reporting, Job costing, WIP/KPI analysis, over and above the standard assistant accounts role.
This position would suit an AAT qualified or Part-qualified accountant that has the ambition to became fully accredited.
Business Support
Work closely with the Management Accountant to build relationships with key stakeholders across the business
Understand the business and be able to note, explain and understand trends and anomalies in the numbers and be able to communicate these to staff at all levels within the business
Management Reporting
Provision of financial information and support to the Management Accountant
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts, including:
Posting accruals, prepayments and standard journals
Monitoring transactions
Ongoing budget monitoring
Review of month-end postings
Final month-end adjustments
Ad hoc reporting and Job costing (including cost codes)
Balance sheet preparation and reviews
Preparation of standard departmental report packs
Analysis and Business Planning
Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts
Provide support to Management Accountant on business planning analysis and ad hoc projects
Detailed knowledge of Excel – preferably to macro’s standard.

In this newly created role our client requires a fully qualified Finance Manager/Business Partner with staff management experience. A thriving business in Eastleigh is currently recruiting an interim Finance Manager to cover sick leave for 3 months.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the purpose of the role is to develop all finance procedures and manage the overall financial performance. Duties include:
• Group financial reporting and statutory reporting
• Liaising with the Managing Director on financial performance, assisting with the running and strategic direction of the business
