Alexander Daniels are currently working with a leading energy business with offices based in the South Birmingham area to recruit a Business Analyst.
This is an exciting opportunity for a business analyst to work in a major programme team of this organisation’s business transformation. The programme will be delivering a demand forecasting solution.
Key deliverables of this role will include:
- Supporting updates and changes to business requirement specifications
- Business process mapping
- Data analysis
- User Acceptance Testing
- Managing issues to resolution
- Stakeholder management
- Supporting the management of the work stream plan
The ideal candidate will be a business analyst who has experience working in the energy industry. You will have previously worked on demand forecasting solutions and large transformation programmes. The projects that you have completed should be data related and you need to have knowledge of SQL for data analysis. You will be able to explain technical issues to business stakeholders and have experience of using different techniques for problem solving and decision making. You will be highly motivated and be able to work to tight deadlines. Stakeholder management and strong communication skills are also required for this role. This role is on a six month interim basis. You will be a self starter with a proactive approach and you should be able to demonstrate that you can take ownership of deliverables.

Job Purpose:
To provide financial support to the Procurement Team to assist in the drivers of Sales and Margins and to financially model potential Initiative benefits. Principle Accountabilities:

• Preparation of the month end Retail Prescription Margin reports by category and monitor monthly performance against budget / forecast / previous month through trending and variance analysis.
• Reconcile rebates and identify any required margin adjustments to correctly account for financial risk to month end and forecast.
• Deliver quarterly forecasting on Retail Prescription Margins and Annual Budgets (c£1.2bn), ensuring delivery to reporting deadlines.
• Track key business drivers and anticipate impacts of market changes to Budget/Forecast
• Identify and quantify Procurement margin risks and opportunities, ensuring that these are communicated promptly in the best format for financial and non financial stakeholders
• Provide analytical insight to drive decision making through modelling new areas for analysis and build robust excel models for accurate calculations.
• Development of KPI reporting solutions to measure buying performance, enhance procurement decision making and challenge the status quo.
• Use analytical skills to determine margin growth opportunities within procurement and help to drive profitability.
