  Financial Software House based in Bristol at Aztec West on the M4/5 junction are looking for two experienced Core Java engineers. These are Java Software engineer positions working in a mixed technology team (c++, java, powerbuilder) on our Corporate Action team.
We are looking for back end/core java experience and knowledge. Website design is not what we are looking for. There may be some flexiblity on the salary band for an exceptional candidate.


A requirement has arisen for 2 x Senior Software Engineers to join a recently established and expanding development team building the platform for the next generation of the Company's Corporate Actions solution. As a senior engineer you will drive the architecture of the product forward, producing robust, provable designs and coordinating their implementation with other team members. The ideal candidate will also possess a proactive attitude and relish working within a multi-disciplinary team. In return the successful candidate will be given technical ownership of key components of the system and will have the opportunity to drive the evolution of the product and gain in-depth knowledge of the workings of the financial markets.

The Successful Candidate will have

·Exceptional OOAD skills

·Expert level skills in Core Java

·Excellent problem solving skills

·A proactive and outgoing attitude

·Excellent written and oral communication skills

·Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

·Strong SQL knowledge


Desired Experience and Skills of the Successful Candidate

·Distributed systems

·Familiarity with common development tools and technologies, including

·Eclipse, ANT, xUnit

·A mainstream Source Control System (e.g. CVS, SVN)

·JDBC

·Experience of the banking/finance industry Java Backend SQL OOAD S/W Engineer - Bristol - to £45K plus bens
