Our client, a city based Systems Consultancy, specialise in integrated data centre services within financial data centre environments. They are part of the 5th largest global software company who specialise in Data Management. Due to their growing business they are actively looking to recruit a Senior Technical Project Manager to work onsite within their IB clients.

Typical Engagements
Our client undertakes varied client assignments and as such your itinerary will be wide-ranging. Typical previous projects include; large scale data centre migrations for investment banks, IT transformations deploying brand new IP networks, and NAS/SAN platform migrations.

Commercial ability
As a professionally qualified project manager you will build client relationships throughout all levels of the organisation. You should be confident in your communication and negotiation skills and be practiced at identifying client's business and political drivers.

Mandatory Skills
* Project management methodology, PRINCE 2, ITIL
* Infrastructure technical skills
* Demonstrable experience at managing enterprise IT infrastructure projects with P&L responsibility
* High level of documentation skills
* Excellent at managing and negotiating through and to business change
* Good communicator

Responsibilities
* The planning of the technical activities of projects in order to produce a detailed schedule of activity and estimate the level of technical resource required for delivery
* To ensure that the appropriate levels of technical resource are identified and assigned to various tasks according to their specialist skill sets
* To coordinate and monitor the technical engineering activities of the project
* To manage technical issues and facilitate the resolution of day-to-day problems in order to ensure that the project is able to progress with minimal delay and cost
* To compose detailed technical build plans to enable consultants to install and implement the solution
* To ensure that the required hardware is delivered to site at the appropriate time and to track its arrival to ensure that the necessary technical resource is available at that time
* Responsible for collection and analysis of project data for presentation at key decision points
* Responsible for the production of Exception Plan(s) at the request of the Project Manager/Engagement Manager
* Managing the Risk owners to ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner, and to update the Risk Log accordingly
* Responsible for the reporting of progress and issues to the Project Manager/Engagement Manager
* Responsibility for configuration management throughout the project life-cycle
